Upcoming Workshop From Explosive to Empowered (How to Respond, Not React, When Behavior Gets Tough) One process. Every behavior. Including the one you're thinking about right now. For parents of strong-willed, highly sensitive, and neurodiverse kids, toddler through teen. GET MY TICKET Tuesday, September 29th at 9 am PT / 12 pm ET Online Zoom Session Lifetime Replay Access Included Sound Familiar, Mama? 🙋🏻♀️ 🙋🏻♀️ 🙋🏻♀️ Tired of having a different strategy for every single behavior, and still not knowing which one to reach for at 6pm? Wondering why the thing that fixed your friend's kid did absolutely nothing for yours? Ready to stop guessing about the meltdown, the homework standoff, or the phone that will not go on the counter? 🙋🏻♀️ Inside Our Hour Together During this workshop you’ll: Why the same process works on the hitting at 4, the homework standoff at 9, and the phone that will not go on the counter at 14, instead of needing a separate trick for each one The four paychecks: the four things every kid is actually earning with their behavior, and which one yours is cashing Why your sister-in-law’s bedtime fix did nothing at your house (she wasn’t wrong, it was the right fix for a different paycheck) How to run the process on YOUR kid’s hardest behavior, right there in the room, with me coaching The fastest reset I know, the one you can do mid-meltdown in the minivan or the grocery line You’ll leave with: GUIDE, the five-step process behind every behavior plan I've written in 22 years The reason behind your kid's hardest behavior, not a theory A reset you can use tonight GET MY TICKET From Explosive to Empowered (How to Respond, Not React, When Behavior Gets Tough) One hour and $27, and the five-step process I use with every family I coach is yours (instead of one more strategy that works on one behavior and nothing else). GET MY TICKET Tuesday, September 29th at 9 am PT / 12 pm ET Online Zoom Session Lifetime Replay Access Included The Details Tuesday, September 29th, 9:00 am PT / 12:00 pm ET Live on Zoom, with a Q&A after Lifetime Replay Access Included GET MY TICKET My Story Hey. I'm Melissa. I've spent twenty two years as a behavior analyst, twelve of them running my own ABA company, helping families figure out why kids do what they do. I'm also a mom of three, two of them neurodiverse, so the 7:58am shoe standoff isn't a hypothetical to me. It's my actual hallway. In all those years I've never written a behavior plan that didn't come out of the same five steps. Different kid, different house, different behavior, same process every time. That's what GUIDE is, and it's why I can sit down with a mom I've never met, hear about four separate problems, and find the one thing running all of them before her coffee gets cold. Here's what I know for sure after all of it: I have never met a bad kid. I've met a lot of behavior nobody had translated yet. Your kid isn't broken and they're not doing it to you. They're an expert. They found the thing that works in your house and they're very good at it. Once you can see what it's earning them, you stop fighting the behavior and start changing what it pays. Most moms have been collecting strategies for years. On the 29th you get the process underneath them, and it comes home with you. I'm Melissa Schulz, MS, BCBA, a parenting coach and a #1 internationally bestselling author. Helping moms yell less and smile more is my whole job. FAQ My kid is 3. Or 9. Or 16. Is this for us? Yes. The process works for ages 2 to 18 because what sits underneath behavior doesn't change with age. What changes is the delivery, and the live coaching pulls examples from across the ages so you can see how it lands for yours. My kid has ADHD or autism. Will this work for us? Yes, and it was built with your kid at the center rather than as an afterthought. I've spent 22 years supporting neurodiverse kids and the families raising them, so the examples come from real houses like yours. Worth saying out loud for everyone else reading this: plenty of the families I work with have no diagnosis at all. A strong-willed 6 year old and an autistic 6 year old can be earning the exact same paycheck. The process doesn't need a label to work. I've done the books, the podcasts, the reels. Why would this be different? Because all of that gave you strategies. A strategy is an answer to one behavior. What you'll get on the 29th is the process that tells you which strategy belongs to which behavior and why, which is the part nobody hands out for free. What happens when my kid stops doing this and starts doing something else? You run the same five steps on the new thing. That's the whole reason I teach the process instead of a list of fixes. Kids change, behavior moves, and a process travels with you in a way a tip sheet never does. Have you taught this before? Yes. This is the workshop I'm teaching at MomCon, Momco's national conference, in front of a room of moms in Denver this September. Same process, same hour. The difference on the 29th is that you're on your own couch instead of in a conference center, you can bring your husband, and there's a live Q&A at the end where you can ask about your actual kid. I can't be there at 9am. Should I still register? Yep. The replay is lifetime and it's included, so nothing is lost. Register, watch when your house allows it, and do the work alongside the recording. Do I need to buy anything else for this to work? No. You'll hear about the ways I work with families one-on-one at the end, and the workshop stands on its own. You'll walk away with the process either way. The deeper offers are for moms who want my eyes on their specific kid, and plenty of moms take what they learn here and run. I have one last question. How can I contact you? Of course. Send me a note at melissa@melissaschulz.com and I'll help ya out. From Explosive to Empowered (How to Respond, Not React, When Behavior Gets Tough) See you on the 29th. I've sat with hundreds of families and watched the same pattern play out: a mom who's read everything and tried everything, convinced she's failing, when the actual problem is that the advice was written for a different kid. I also have my own kids. I know exactly what it looks like when the whole morning falls apart before 8am. That's what this workshop is. A 60-minute workshop where you watch how I think through a real standoff, then build a response for your actual kid. I'm Melissa Schulz, MS, BCBA. I run Confidently Mommin', where I help moms of strong-willed, highly sensitive, and neurodiverse kids stop surviving their days and start enjoying their kids again. This workshop is the fastest way I know to hand you the first piece. FAQ My kid is 3. Or 9. Is this for us? The workshop is built for kids ages 2 to 10. The Verbal Pivot works across that whole range, and the coaching moment pulls scenarios from different ages so you see how it applies to yours. Is this only for kids with ADHD or autism? It's for any mom whose kid doesn't respond to standard parenting advice. Strong-willed, highly sensitive, emotionally intense, kids with ADHD, kids with autism. If the usual approaches haven't worked, you're in the right place. Is this live or pre-recorded? It's the recording of the live workshop, and it's yours the minute you buy. You'll watch the real coaching moment with the moms who were in the room, real battles, nothing scrubbed. The Verbal Pivot Worksheet comes with it, the same one they had in their hands. How long do I have access? Forever. Watch it at 9pm after a brutal bedtime, watch it again in six months when a new battle shows up, watch it on your phone in the pickup line. It's yours. Why Everything Becomes a Battle (And How to Make It Stop) The next battle is coming. Let's make sure you're ready for it. And underneath all of that, there’s this quiet thought: “I should be able to figure this out… so why does it still feel so overwhelming?” A Different Approach That Gets to the Root Most parenting advice focuses on surface-level behavior. What to say. What consequence to use. How to fix the moment. But when you’re raising a strong-willed, sensitive, or neurodiverse child… those things don’t hold up for long. WHY? Your child’s behavior isn’t random. It’s communication. So instead of trying to control behavior, I help you understand it. I help you start changing what’s underneath it. What your child is truly trying to communicate. We figure out what’s really driving the behavior. Not just what it looks like on the outside, but what’s actually going on underneath it. My Proven Process Introducing GUIDE, a proven process to actually understand what's driving your child's behavior beyond the surface. 01 G=Gather Data We pick one behavior to focus and start tracking it to understand what’s really happening. 02 U= Understand and Release Triggers We identify patterns and triggers. Your child’s triggers… and yours. Because both matter more than you’ve probably been told. 03 I= Investigate the Cause of the Behavior We identify the root cause of the behavior so you can stop guessing and start addressing what’s actually going on underneath. 04 D=Deter the Behavior From Happening Again We prevent the behavior before it starts. We teach the skills your child is missing. Things like emotional regulation, flexibility, and problem-solving. The stuff they were never explicitly taught. 05 E=Encourage Appropriate Behaviors We reinforce what you do want to see. So the right behaviors actually stick. And we come up with a plan that will actually work for how to respond when the problem behavior happens again. Melissa Schulz is the real deal! I loved working with Melissa! Her knowledge, compassion and helpful tips came when we needed it the most with our deeply feeling child. She patiently answered all my questions and what ifs, and helped me see what I was missing. Melissa is so easy to talk to and personable. I am so glad to have her as a resource for what the next season of life brings! Kelly L Melissa was a game changer in my Mom-Game for helping me build my relationship and understanding of my “Spicey Mama 2 Year Old”. Being a teacher and having a “Pretty Chill Little Dude” 5 year old, I thought (keyword thought) the second rodeo would be an easier one. Wrong. Having never experienced full blown tantrums in the grocery stores, backbreaking dance moves while trying to get Spicey Mama in her car seat, full on eye contact while slamming her head into the ground just for fun (? ), and total pet torture while smiling, I was pretty sure there was a switch on my child’s back that was incorrectly flipped from “Good” to (you know)… I cried nightly. My husband and I yelled daily. Still guilty about this one, but I asked God why my son didn’t have these issues, but my daughter did. I questioned all of my parenting and teaching philosophies and what we did wrong. Then came: Melissa. Melissa was my fresh breath of air. Melissa reminded me of what it means to be TWO. She brought me into a two year old’s understanding of what life is. She gave me perspective. After I gained a new understanding of what my toddler was seeing and feeling, we then strategized. We pinpointed specific issues needing to work on as a family and with S.M., and game planned. This is what we needed. There was no “quick fix” for my daughter, but long term intensive, loving attention and structured language to support the goals I set with Melissa. This was all done in ONE session! Parents, if you are in a place where you are struggling with parenting, want to set a goal, need a new perspective on how tiny humans work, or just need a fellow parent to laugh/cry/feel frustrated/let it out with, Melissa is the gal for the gig! Become the parent you want to be. Contact Me for More Information FAQ | Confidently Mommin’ Parenting Coaching with Melissa Shulz, BCBA FAQ Do you have an office near me? Is your coaching program the same as therapy No! I am not a licensed therapist and do not do therapy. I LOVE therapy and recommend it for all humans, and what I do is very different. While we will discuss some thoughts and emotions that are keeping you stuck, we will do this in a very intentional and step by step way with an emphasis on behavior change. I do not provide medical treatment for a mental health condition, instead I use a unique blend of mindset work and research-based behavioral strategies to change your behavior so that you can change your child’s behavior. Some of my clients are also in therapy to resolve childhood issues, trauma, treat a mental health condition, etc., and it works well to do both. How much does your coaching program cost? Michelle C. I have been working with Melissa for over a year and with her help, I have made so many improvements in several areas of my life. She has helped me become aware of my own thinking patterns and how to change them. She has helped me with my parenting and with my classroom management. Working with her has been so beneficial and I would recommend it to anyone interested. Katherine G. Melissa truly wants to help parents grow and enjoy parenting! She has all the expertise and schooling and knows what she's talking about! Aside from her credentials, when you meet with her, you instantly enter a judgment-free zone, which is the best feeling and place to be when working on yourself. Priscilla C. You can set your text box to expand and collapse when people click, so they can read more or less info. Do you acccept insurance? No, my services are private pay only. My package was thoughtfully and intentionally created to bridge the gap between what medical insurance provides and what families actually need to change their child(ren)’s behavior. I share that information with you on the consultation call once I understand your unique family situation and what your needs are. Become the parent you want to be. Schedule A Free Consult What to Expect on the Consultation Call: The consultation call is a 90 minute Zoom call with me. (Make sure to schedule it when you will be relatively private and distraction free with a good internet connection.) I’ll start by asking a lot of questions about what is happening with you and your kids; what you’ve tried before, and why you think it hasn't worked. I’ll get a feel for the individual personalities of the members of your family, the possible causes of the behavior challenges, and what your goals and priorities are for your family. Then I will give you my assessment of what’s going on; what the underlying issues are and how to solve them. I’ll tell you the skills that you and your kids need to learn to create the family life that you want. If you are a good fit for my 1:1 coaching program, I will invite you to consider working with me and share all the details. I only offer this to families with issues that I have already helped dozens if not hundreds of families solve and am 100% confident that my program will work. You get to decide, on the call, with no pressure or judgment, if you are interested in working together. I’ll help you make the best decision for your family (which might be yes OR no!) if you want to talk it through together. You will leave the call feeling great about your decision to work together or not, and have a clear plan moving forward of how things are going to be different. You will look back on this call as a crossroads…the defining moment when your parenting changed for good forever! Schedule A Free Consult Your parenting will be completely different. You will know exactly how to stay calm and respond to your child’s behavior effectively, and you’ll do it effortlessly and consistently. I founded Confidently Mommin’ in 2020 to serve families as a Parenting Coach. Using my extensive education and background, I use proven processes to help parents know how to calmly and confidently manage any and all of their child’s challenging behaviors and enjoy their family time.
